Hosted by Coastal Culture Marine
Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out the very first Coastal Monthly Hangout Podcast.
We started this monthly series for one simple reason: to pull back the curtain on what we’re actually doing around the shop, talk local waters, share honest maintenance advice, and give everyone a casual space to hang out. Whether you’ve been stopping by since we opened eight months ago on a dirt lot or you’re brand new to the area, consider this your standing invitation to kick back, grab a cold drink, and join us for the next one.
Check out the full recorded stream, or scan through the recap below to see what’s rolling through the shop this month.
1. Local Boating & The Coastal Family
We kicked off Episode 1 with Chris—a 28-year military vet and one of the very first customers to buy a Hurricane deck boat from us when we first broke ground.
Chris was talking about taking his boat everywhere from local runs around Pensacola and Fort McRae to taking shopping trips down to Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. He’s even prepping to take it through the ditch all the way down to Panama City and Port St. Joe.
That’s what being situated where we are along the Florida Panhandle is all about—in a single day, you can hit three completely different water setups. If you want to drop anchor at a packed local sandbar with a big group, you can. If you want peace and quiet up the river or in the bay, it’s right there.
Most importantly, like Chris mentioned: When you buy a boat from Coastal Culture Marine, you aren't just getting handed a set of keys and a invoice. You’re becoming part of a local community for life.
2. Real Talk from the Service Bay (25+ Years in the Panhandle)
If you’ve been around marine shops long enough, you know how stressful repairs and wait times can be. Our Service Director, Jeff Evans, joined the chat to talk about how we’re building out our service department to do things differently.
25 Years of Local Expertise: Jeff has been wrenching on boats up and down Highway 98 for over two decades.
Factory Certifications: Our technicians are wrapping up full factory certifications across major outboard motor brands so your engine service, electrical troubleshooting, and routine oil/impeller maintenance are done right the first time.
Full-Service Rigging: We’re taking on everything in-house—stereo installs, GPS/chartplotters, trolling motor setups, fuel system ethanol fixes, and full repowers.
All Hands on Deck: We don't do the corporate "that's not my job" routine here. Everyone on our team—from sales to service—drives tractors, launches boats, mows the grass, and helps you flush your motors if you need a hand.
3. Helping New Boaters Get Comfortable on the Water
If you’re new to boating or just moved to the Gulf Coast, taking a boat out for the first time can feel a little intimidating. Austin from our team broke down how we coach new owners through the whole process:
Ramp & Launch Coaching: We’ll actually head down to the boat ramp with you, coach you through launching and retrieving, and take the stress away so you feel confident at the helm.
No "Dumb" Questions: Whether you need to know how to flush your outboard after a saltwater trip, how to read local inlet currents, or where to run inshore for redfish with local legends like Kevin Holiday, our doors are always open.
4. Going into Fall
With the crazy summer rush winding down, fall is easily the best time of year to get work done on your boat or look at inventory.
2027 Inventory Arriving: New model year arrivals are rolling onto the lot from Cape Horn Offshore Center Consoles, Godfrey Pontoons, and Hurricane Deck Boats.
Pre-Owned & Consignments: We’ve got 10 to 15 consignment and pre-owned boats coming and going through the yard right now. The inventory changes fast, so you won't see the same boat sitting there twice.
Zero Wait Time for Repairs: Skip the 2-month summer repair lines. Now is the time to bring your boat in for 100-hour service, electronics installs, or seasonal storage prep so you’re ready the moment the weather turns nice.
No-Hassle Sea Trials: Our local boat ramp is literally a mile and a half down the road. If you want to feel how a Cape Horn handles open water or test out a new outboard package, you don't need a heavy deposit or a signed contract just to get on the water with us.
Come Hang Out at the Next Event!
We’re continuing to expand our local facility with more dry storage, larger service bays, and a full calendar of community events, demo days, and casual shop hangouts coming up over the next 90 days.
